[Notice] KRX Responds to COVID-19 : Market Actions and CSR Activities

The KRX, in order to safeguard our capital market infrastructure and to protect our investors, market participants and fellow employees, has closely cooperated with the Korean Government and proactively engaged in timely measures against the Coronavirus(COVID-19) outbreak since January 2020.

Investor alerts were notified on increasing market volatility and surveillance of suspicius trading was strengthened since January as initial measures while the Market Monitoring Task Force have closely monitored market conditions to take necessary measures.

In the following weeks, KRX provided the vulnerable class of local communities - especially for the elderly and children - with face masks, sanitary equipment and food supplies to aid protection against the outbreak. KRX also postponed the 2020 AOSEF General Assembly to be hosted by KRX in April to 2021 as an effort to ensure the saftey of participating Asian securities exchange members.

In March, KRX launched the Market Emergency Committee, Chaired by Jiwon Jung, Chairman and CEO of KRX, and replaced the Market Monitoring T/F to actively cooperate with the authorities and market participants. KRX has taken timely actions to stabalize our markets by taking CB measures as well as creating a Securities Market Stabalization Fund together with the financial investment community to support our markets.

Despite extremely higher trading volumes in recent months, KRX's IT systems has provided a stable trading environment for all our securities and derivative markets. KRX has also been operating additional remote offices and reallocated staff to ensure the integrity of our operations.
