The MD|DC Credit Union Association hosted its first Open Your Eyes (OYE) steering committee meeting with CUNA's Chris Lorence, Chief Credit Union Awareness Officer and Zan McKelway, Deputy Chief Strategic Communications Officer.
MD|DC Credit Union Association CEO John Bratsakis discussed the research behind the campaign and CUNA's team provided an update on strides the campaign is making nationally and the opportunities that exist in the Maryland and DC metro regions.
According to CUNA, as of July 5, the majority of visitors to YourMoneyFurther.com, the consumer-facing campaign site, are between the ages of 25 and 44, illustrating the targeted demographic of the campaign is being reached. 73% of visits are on a mobile device and more than 63% of traffic comes from Facebook, demonstrating that OYE is picking up steam on social media.
The Association will be reaching out to credit unions to support a regional OYE effort. The Steering committee includes representatives from Andrews FCU, Cedar Point FCU, Educational Systems FCU, First Eagle FCU, First Financial FCU, Freedom FCU, Johns Hopkins FCU, MECU, and SECU.
