Exhibit: Susanne Crane: Selected Works - Charles H. MacNider Art Museum (Center Space Gallery), 303 2nd St. SE (641-421-3666). This exhibition features the paintings of Albert Lea, MN artist Susanne Crane. The artworks highlight the natural landscape and, perhaps, give the viewer a glimpse into the symbolic world.Open during all normal operation hours of the Museum. Exhibit will be on display until February 10, 2018.

2018 Winter Family Ice Fishing Day - Lester Milligan Park (Blue Pit) South Pierce Ave. (641-421-3673). The Mason City Recreation Dept. and Iowa Department of Natural Resources would like to invite children & their families to attend the Family Ice Fishing Day! The IDNR will be stocking rainbow trout at 11:30 a.m. the day of the event to encourage family participation in the sport of Ice Fishing. The MC Recreation Dept. will provide refreshments to those in attendance. There will also be IDNR volunteers on hand to answer questions and help where needed. The event is free, but anglers must be properly licensed! If adults have a valid fishing license & trout fee, children under 16 years of age, fishing with that adult will be covered and together their daily limit is five trout. Children under 16 years of age need a trout fee only if not fishing with a licensed adult. The daily bag limit for trout is five trout per day. Participants should bring appropriate ice fishing gear. A limited amount of poles and tackle will be available to those who do not have any!
