Go CV and City of Culture announce new partnership

Published Friday, 18 June 2021

Go CV cardholders can now enjoy great UK City of Culture benefits.

Coventry City of Culture Trust has joined the city scheme and will be offering benefits such as priority booking, exclusive experiences and money off tickets for selected events.

The Trust has launched a new app where you can find out what's on, book tickets, unlock priority booking and exclusive experiences by earning Cov Points by booking tickets, attending events and taking part in activities.

When residents register with City of Culture for the Cov Points scheme, Go CV and Go CV+ members will automatically receive 150 and 300 points respectively.

Go CV+ members will also receive an exclusive discount of up to 50% on tickets for a selected number of City of Culture events in addition to the other rewards and benefits.

The first City of Culture activity where Go CV+ members can enjoy discounted tickets is 'Observations on Being', an interactive audio and visual art installation located across the tree-filled spaces and buildings of Charterhouse Heritage Park - Joseph Paxton's Grade 1 listed cemetery and its arboretum.

The Go CV+ offer entitles members up to four FREE tickets, to be booked andredeemed within the first two weeks of the event opening (22 June - 5 July). Thereafter, Go CV+ members can book up to four tickets with 50% off.

'Observations on Being' runs from 22 June to 15 August 2021.

Councillor David Welsh, Cabinet Member for Housing and Communities said: 'The Go CV scheme has been a great success, with thousands of residents able to enjoy discounts at attractions such as The Wave and Coventry Music Museum and of course free entry to the Transport Museum. Now, with this new partnership, there will be even more on offer to help people celebrate our year as City of Culture.

'We want everyone to be a part of this special year, and we are delighted the City of Culture Trust is helping Coventry people to be right at the heart of it all. I am especially pleased that there will be even greater discounts for those with a Go CV plus card.'

Cllr Kamran Caan, Cabinet Member for Public Health and Sport added: 'The Go CV card is already a must-have for all city residents, but now there are even more reasons to sign up, and Go CV+ offers a little extra help to those who need it, such as people on certain benefits, carers and students.

'I would encourage anyone who hasn't already signed up to take a look at what's on offer. There's so much going on in Coventry and with a Go CV card you can enjoy it even more.'

Laura McMillian, Director of Audience Strategy at Coventry City of Culture Trust said: 'We are delighted to be able to offer Go CV and Go CV+ members special benefits for Coventry's year as UK City of Culture.

'We hope all Go CV and Go CV+ members download the Coventry City of Culture app, and make full use of their points, either through priority booking, exclusive experiences or discounts. This is a great incentive for people to get involved, come along to events and discover something new in Coventry.'
