CCIWTU Germany: To the workers Whose struggles are not negotiable Workers, trade unionists

To the workers

Whose struggles are not negotiable

Workers, trade unionists,

indeed: the struggles of us workers are non-negotiable. Also against our workers in the ports of Hamburg, Bremerhaven, Bremen and others, the capital of the ports has called the class justice to break the strike, which is about the preservation of the jobs and about a wage increase. A wage increase that truly does not even come close to compensating for the extortionate prices on goods due to the inflation of the German war economy - i.e. 12 percent more in the wage packet - and which is then immediately robbed by the bourgeoisie. So, for this, the class justice has reached a verdict, which is: the strike and the right to strike would be negotiable, suspension of the strike until the end of August 2022, that is, until the port operators regroup against the workers. This "agreement" of strike-breaking was accepted when the DGB union verdi called off the strike. This is a real betrayal of the dockers in struggle, who after 43 years have managed by their own efforts to overcome the fragmentation in the German ports, divided by dozens of employers and capitalists, to unite again in struggle and have brought about a first, albeit brief, unity in all overseas ports of the FRG, not only in Hamburg. This was and is solely due to the determined action of the workers. And without now continuing the struggle in our ports under the slogan "The strike preserves the right to strike", the "criminal association" of state and bosses has won a first victory in the stage of the workers' struggle. We are in this situation and your manifestations are just right for us. Because: The oppression will not remain. The worker and his class struggle will break it, precisely until the exploitation and oppression of us proletarians from all over the world is annulled by our class struggle and this forever.

But we are not yet so far in this common front that we can say: Strengthened from this day of struggle in the ports of the FRG, it is now a question of building a united general strike of all class and struggle forces. But the attack on all dockers of the year 2022 will only become the unity of the general strike if we, the workers in our country, go your way. And that is what we are fighting for right now.

With militant greetings!
