Detachment of ships of Black Sea Fleet to take part in Bridge of Friendship 2021 Russian-Egyptian naval exercise

A detachment of ships of the Black Sea Fleet is completing the transition to the port of Alexandria in the Arab Republic of Egypt to participate in Bridge of Friendship 2021 Russian-Egyptian naval exercise.

The official call of the ships of the fleet into the port is scheduled for December 3. The detachment includes the frigate Admiral Grigorovich with a deck helicopter on board, the patrol ship Dmitry Rogachev and the rescue tug SB-742.

From 3 to 10 December in the Mediterranean Sea in the Gulf of Alexandria, Russian and Egyptian warships will operate under the leadership of the joint exercise headquarters.

The purpose of the exercise is to prepare and plan joint actions to protect limited sea areas from various threats, to conduct search and rescue operations and to check suspicious ships.

Bridge of Friendship Russian-Egyptian exercise has been held since 2015. In 2020, it took place in the Black Sea with the entry of participating ships at the port of Novorossiysk.
