Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development on media arrangements for National Communal Land Tenure Summit

The Inter-Ministerial Committee (IMC) on Land Reform will convene the National Communal Land Tenure Summit on the 27th to 28th May 2022 at Birchwood Hotel and Conference Centre in Boksburg, Gauteng Province.

Government wishes to advise members of the media about the following arrangements.

Media Accreditation

Members of media who have successfully applied for accreditation to cover the Summit are advised to collect accreditation as follows:

Date: Thursday, 26 May (14:00 - 18:00) and Friday, 27 May 2022 (07h30 to 08h30)
Venue: Barcelona Room, International Centre, Birchwood Hotel and Conference Centre. Journalists are requested to access the venue through Terminal A, Gate 5.
NB: For purposes of identification, members of the media collecting accreditation are advised to bring along their Press cards/ ID document.

09:00 - 09:20: Remarks by the Premier of Gauteng Province, David Makhura

09:20 - 09:30: Remarks by the Minister of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development, Thoko Didiza.

09:35 - 09:40: Remarks by the Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma

09:50 - 10:20 Keynote Address by Deputy President David Mabuza, IMC Chairperson

10:20 - 10: 30: Reflection on the position of government on land administration and tenure reform in communal areas, Deputy Minister Mcebisi Skwatsha

10:00 - 10:30: Remarks by the Deputy Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Obed Bapela
