KENNESAW, Ga.- was named to the ASUN Conference 2019-20 Fall Winners for Life team, the conference announced Tuesday.
The team is comprised of one student-athlete from each of the nine institutions and honors those who display excellence on and off the playing surface. The Winners for Life team honors a campus citizen that is respected as one who shares and/or demonstrates the ASUN Core Values: Education, Honesty, Student-Athlete Experience, Fairness, Health, Ambition, Respect, Diversity, Inclusion, Leadership, Responsibility, and Sportsmanship. To be eligible for the award, the student-athlete must have competed in the current academic year in an ASUN sponsored sport and be in good academic standing at his/her university.
Meyer was the Owls top finisher in four cross country races this season. She set the school record in the 4K with a time of 14:16 at the Bulldog Invitational. She finished 55th at the Commodore Classic in 22:36.9, was 42nd at the Louisville Classic (17:48.6) and 24th at the Blazer Classic (21:22.77). The Roswell, Ga. native finished 15th at the ASUN Championship in a time of 18:03.43. She closed out the season finishing 100th at the NCAA South Regional in a time of 22:18.7. The junior was named to the ASUN Cross Country All-Academic team with a 4.0 GPA in Environmental Science.
Off the track, Meyer volunteered her time at Atlanta Track Club's Wingfoot XC Meet and at the KSU Veteran's Day Football Game.
