Return of four precious artefacts excavated from the tomb of the Late Period vizier Baken-Re-Nef at the Saqqara Necropolis

Minister of State at the German Federal Foreign Office, Michelle Müntefering, returned four precious artefacts to the Ambassador of the Arabic Republic of Egypt, S.E. Khaled Galal Eldin Abdelhamid on 4 March, 2021. The objects were confiscated by German police authorities in 2017. They were illegally excavated from the tomb of the Late Period vizier Baken-Re-Nef at the Saqqara Necropolis. They consist of two limestone-painted reliefs depicting the cartouche of the vizier and two funerary masks
