It now meets the requirements for transformers in Canada, a country with its share of tough winter weather.
'The last version of CAN/ CSA-C50-14 is one of the world's most advanced standards regulating the usage of mineral oils in transformers. NYTRO® Polaris GXN not only meets and exceeds the Canadian specifications, it also allows the transformer manufacturer to use the same oil in both the main oil tank as well as in the load tap changer (LTC),' says Gutenberg Souza Oliveira, Sales Manager Americas.
The LTC is a piece of equipment embedded in the transformer.
'These oils ensure the right conditions for heat transfer as well as for load tap changer operations in harsh climate situations,' adds Jayme Nunes, Senior Technical Advisor at Nynas Americas.
'The main differentials of these oils are the very low pour point temperature and the extremely low viscosity at -40°C.'
