R&B Icon Jhené Aiko Signs Global Co-Publishing Deal with Warner Chappell Music

Warner Chappell Music, the global publishing arm of Warner Music Group, has signed an exclusive co-publishing deal with Grammy-nominated hitmaker Jhené Aiko. For more than a decade, she's been at the forefront of a new wave of contemporary music. Known for experimenting with a range of styles - from psychedelic music to classic R&B - the singer/songwriter has collaborated with Drake, Childish Gambino, John Legend, Summer Walker, Big Sean, Saweetie and many others.

Warner Chappell Music President of A&R, U.S., Ryan Press, said: "Jhené's star power only continues to rise, and it's been exciting to see her become one of the industry's most influential acts. With each new release, she reveals a different side of her musical talent and captivates listeners with her artistry and lyrics. She's established herself as the defining voice of her generation and of modern R&B, and we're so proud to be working with Jhené, her manager Taz and the whole team at ArtClub."

Jhené Aiko shared: "I've known Ryan Press for a long time now and have so much love and respect for the work they're doing at Warner Chappell. They treat their songwriters like family, and it's great to be on this new journey together."

Six-time Grammy nominee Jhené Aiko crowned a breakthrough year in 2020 with over three billion streams worldwide and three Grammy nominations for her R&B masterpiece, Chilombo, including the prestigious 'Album Of The Year.' Chilombo was nominated for four Billboard Music Awards, an American Music Award for Best Soul/R&B female, two Soul Train Awards, and won the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Album.

Chilombo is certified platinum with five gold and platinum singles - including the No. 1 urban and rhythmic hit "B.S." featuring H.E.R. It also topped the Billboard R&B chart twice last year and was the biggest Billboard R&B debut from a female artist since Beyoncé's Lemonade.

In 2020, Jhené was featured on CBS This Morning, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Late Late Show with James Corden, and hosted the 63rd Annual Grammy Premiere Ceremony. She also contributed original songs to ABC's black-ish and Disney's Raya & the Last Dragon, and was featured on new singles from Big Sean, Ty Dolla $ign, and Saweetie.
