The City is seeking the public's input on affordable housing, neighborhood preservation, how to help lower income residents, and more issues related to housing as part of its City Steps 2025 plan.
A series of public meetings where residents are invited to share their ideas for housing in the City will be held next week at various locations throughout town next week. Those public meetings are:
Childcare will be available for children ages 1-8 at the Broadway and Pheasant Ridge events. Space is limited at the two events, so please register with the Neighborhood Centers of Johnson County by calling 319-354-7989.
City Steps 2025 is part of the City's 2021-2025 Consolidate Plan for housing. Since the City receives funds from the US Department of Housing & Urban Development, the City is required to identify and prioritize housing needs in the community, and then explain how it will address those needs. Feedback from community members is key for making an accurate plan.
