Marzio Lamas, intern: 'As things slowly get back to normal, I can hopefully restart my trip and start thinking about studying abroad again'

It's been over a month since I took my second covid shot. I had no symptoms or any other issue during the immunization period. It has been a very hard time for everyone over the last year. I used to work in a brewery which had to close when the pandemic first hit. Thanks to the vaccines, things are starting to get back to normal and people are feeling hopeful again.

As vaccinations ramp up, activities are starting to resume. More people are going to restaurants and bars, and even travelling to some local touristic destinations on the weekends. My closest friends all got the vaccine and we could finally meet safely since the start of the pandemic. I feel more comfortable going outside and hopefully I can start meeting new people.

I had a big trip planned to Spain, where I wanted to continue my academic studies and visit some friends. As things slowly get back to normal, I can hopefully restart my trip and start thinking about studying abroad again. I am looking forward to travelling this summer, once more people around the world start to get the vaccine. I would also love to take some vacations with friends and family, go to some beach resort or to camp on a rural area. I would appreciate going to a museum and to a party with lots of people, and without masks! Each day, I know we are getting closer and closer towards that goal, and life can finally return to its course.
