Chip Cannon Discusses Battery Storage, Biden-Harris Admin.’s Impact on FERC in POWER Magazine Podcast

Chip Cannon, head of the energy regulation, markets and enforcements practice at Akin Gump, has been featured in The POWER Podcast episode 'Leveling the Market Playing Field for Hybrid Power Plants' from POWER magazine.

The conversation includes a look at what Cannon thinks are some of the most pressing issues before FERC. He addresses why battery storage is one of them and discusses the role that FERC plays in it, observing that the commission 'actually can't implement policies that would help the deployment of integration of battery storage resources just because those resources can help firm up intermittent resources for purposes of greening the grid.'

In addition, Cannon addresses how the Biden-Harris administration could alter activities within FERC, particularly given its heavy focus on renewable energy.
