Hispanic American Heritage Month is Here! How LiveVox is Celebrating

North Americans observe National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15, by celebrating the histories, cultures, and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central, and South America.

This year we're hosting virtual dance classes as a way to mark the occasion and immerse ourselves in the beautiful cultures and traditions of our Hispanic and Latino and teammates.

Check out some of our other suggestions for fun and food fit for the whole family.

5 Hispanic Heritage Month Activities

1. Support a Hispanic or Latino-owned business

Check out these Hispanic and Latino-owned businesses and boost your local community,

2. Enjoy a classic Latin or Hispanic dish

Pupusas. Chile rellano. Paella. Ceviche. Enchiladas. Enough said.

3. Take a dance class!

Take the opportunity to learn to tango (while burning off those pupusas) for free online.

4. Watch a film about Latin culture in Spanish

Disney's Coco is available for the whole family to stream. When the kids go to bed Frida is available on Amazon Prime.

5. Read a book by a Hispanic or Latino author

We love the magical realism of One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez and Like Water for Chocolate by Laura Esquivel.

How do we plan to commemorate Hispanic Heritage Month at LiveVox?

1. We're dancing together in a virtual salsa class

Learning new dance moves is a fantastic and energizing way to connect with Hispanic culture, while also exercising. Please join us in one of our upcoming Salsa classes to explore one of Latin music's most popular genres, Salsa. In this lesson, you'll learn about the importance of rhythm to Latin music and the different steps you need to know to dance a whole salsa song. Beginners welcome!

When LiveVoxers can participate:

US and Colombia: Friday, September 17th, 9 AM EST & Friday, September 24th, 9 AM EST

India: Friday, September 17th, 6:30 PM IST & Friday, September 24th, 6:30 PM IST

AZUCAR! A classic staple of Latino dessert tables

All that dancing will work up the appetite. Azucar, anyone? This Cuban pastry combines classical French baking techniques with Cuban roots and tastes muy delicioso.
Find the recipe here. Share the fruits of your labor and post with the hashtag #LifeatLiveVox.

Food is a great way to connect with Hispanic culture. It tastes good and it nourishes the soul! We encourage our LiveVox Community to share recipes with their global teammates. LiveVoxers can then fully experience the taste of classic Latin and Hispanic American dishes and feelings of community and togetherness with their beloved friends and family!
