The Colihaut constituency will soon benefit from a new health center which is quickly nearing completion.

The 1.9 million dollar project, which started in September 2020 is expected to last approximately nine months, and has kept up with the projected schedule.

Member of Parliament for the Colihaut constituency, Honourable Lady Catherine Daniel stated that she is pleased with the pace of the construction work.

'It started in September and it has been going at a fast rate. I want to thank the Prime Minister and the developers as well as the Chinese workers who are working at a record speed to deliver to us. I am very pleased with the rate that the project is progressing and if the rate continues we will have the health center in the nine months,' the MP stated.

Hon. Daniel added that she is thankful for a community project that will benefit all residents of the constituency.

'This is a community project where everyone, regardless to who you are affiliated to, can benefit from it. And I think the people of Colihaut are extremely happy for it,' she noted.

District Nurse and Midwife of the Colihaut Community, Ms. May Darroux stated that the new health center will be a tremendous addition to the community, adding that the new health center will bring about better health care and community care in Colihaut.

'Because of the present setting, I think that a new health center will boost health care in my area, it will boost patient care, it will boost education, it will boost maternal and child care which is part of my present duties, and it will boost our overall development as a community,' Nurse Darroux explain
