Services planned for former Mayor Pro Tem Douglas Gallagher (1944-2022)

Former Allen City Councilmember and Mayor Pro Tem Douglas Gallagher passed away on Thursday, January 13. Gallagher was elected as Councilmember, Place No. 3 in 1995 and re-elected in 1997, and served as Mayor Pro Tem from 2000 to 2001. His service to the Allen community also included roles on the Capital Improvement Advisory Committee, Planning and Zoning Commission and Economic Development Corporation.

Visitation will be held Friday, January 21 from 6-8 p.m. at Charles Smith & Sons Funeral Home Chapel (601 S. Tennessee St McKinney). A funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 22 at Grace Church (2005 Estates Pkwy., Allen). View full obituary and funeral details.
