Underwritten by Chubb, DBS customers can sign up for COVID-19 Vaccine Protect from 15 April to 30 June 2021

Hong Kong, 15 Apr 2021 - DBS Hong Kong today announced it has partnered with Chubb Insurance Hong Kong Limited to offer its customers complimentary insurance coverage in relation to COVID-19 vaccination.

Launched today, the COVID-19 Vaccine Protect provides DBS customers with complimentary insurance with COVID-19 vaccination adverse reaction protection from policy commencement date to 31 December 2021 and 30-day COVID-19 coverage from the policy commencement date.

DBS customers who reside in Hong Kong with a valid Hong Kong Identity Card, aged 18 years or above, can register for the free COVID-19 Vaccine Protect for themselves, and for their spouse and children under the same policy. Spouse must be aged 18 years or above residing in Hong Kong with a valid Hong Kong Identity Card and children must be aged six months to 17 years residing in Hong Kong. Immediate family members do not need to be DBS customers.

The complimentary COVID-19 Vaccine Protect is available for DBS customers to sign up online from 15 April to 30 June 2021. Coverage commences on the next calendar day of application and expires automatically on 31 December 2021.

FAQs on the COVID-19 Vaccine Protect

Q1: Who can apply for COVID-19 Vaccine Protect?

DBS customers, aged 18 years or above who reside in Hong Kong with a valid Hong Kong Identity Card can register to apply for this complimentary policy for themselves and for their spouse and children under the same policy. Spouse must be aged 18 years or above residing in Hong Kong with a valid Hong Kong Identity Card and children must be aged six months to 17 years residing in Hong Kong. Immediate family members do not need to be DBS customers.


Q2: What does the COVID-19 Vaccine Protect cover?

It safeguards customers against adverse reaction after receiving COVID-19 vaccination. During the period of insurance, each insured person is entitled to coverage for receiving 2 doses of the same vaccine and shall receive compensation against the adverse reaction that arise within 14 days from the date of the most recent vaccination. In addition, customers will also receive free COVID-19 coverage for 30 days from the policy commencement date. Benefits are as follows:

Q5: When does the free cover start?

Free COVID-19 Vaccine Protect commences on the next date of application and will expire automatically on 31 December 2021. COVID-19 cover under the endorsement commences on the next date of application and will expire automatically after 30 days. Successful applicants will receive an email acknowledgement from Chubb within five working days after submission of their applications.

Q6: What happens when the free cover ends?

Free cover will expire automatically on 31 December 2021. Customers are not required to cancel the policy.
