Chief Drake Announces the Promotion of 8 MNPD Veterans to New Supervisory Roles November 30, 2021

Chief John Drake this afternoon announced the promotion of eight MNPD veterans, four to the rank of lieutenant and four to the rank of sergeant, effective tomorrow to fill supervisory vacancies primarily at the precinct level.

Sergeants being promoted to lieutenant are:

Tiffany Gibson, a 16-year MNPD veteran who will now lead the Midtown Hills Precinct's day shift. Gibson, who most recently was assigned to the MNPD Training Academy, holds a Bachelor's Degree from Belmont University.

Ed Rucker, a 16-year MNPD veteran who will now lead the West Precinct's overnight shift. Rucker most recently was a community engagement supervisor at the West Precinct

Brandon Tennant, a 12-year MNPD veteran who will now be a supervisor in the newly created Violent Crimes Division that will handle most robbery investigations. Tennant, who most recently was a supervisor at the West Precinct, holds a Bachelor's Degree from Oakland City University and a Master's Degree from Cumberland University.

Jessica Ware, an 8-year MNPD veteran who will now lead the West Precinct's evening shift. Ware, who most recently was the Community Coordinator at the East Precinct, holds a Bachelor's Degree from Francis Marion University.

Officers being promoted to sergeant are:

Sandra Fly, a 6-year MNPD veteran who will now be a supervisor on the Madison Precinct's day shift. Fly, who most recently was assigned to the South Precinct, holds a Bachelor's Degree from Tennessee Tech University.

Aaron Jones, a 14-year MNPD veteran will now be a supervisor on the South Precinct's overnight shift. Jones, who most recently was assigned to the North Precinct, holds a Bachelor's Degree from Tennessee State University.

Christopher Mackey, a 7-year MNPD veteran who will now be a supervisor on the East Precinct's evening shift. Mackey, who most recently was assigned to the Hermitage Precinct, holds an Associate's Degree from Waubonsee Community College.

Charles Ward, an 8-year MNPD veteran who will now be a supervisor on the West Precinct's evening shift. Ward, who most recently was assigned as a School Resource Officer, holds a Bachelor's Degree from Middle Tennessee State University.
