Posting an opening round 311 in Monday's morning round left the Knights some catch-up work, and Bellarmine wasted no time getting back into contention at the tourney held played at The Meadows on the campus of Grand Valley State. Led by two-under-par round of 69, the Knights caught and surpassed one team on Monday afternoon with a team score of 294. Coming back on Tuesday, Bellarmine turned in the third-best score of the day (295) to rise three more spots.
The University of Findlay turned in three consecutive scores of 288 to win the team tile by five shots over Wayne State, with the host GVSU Lakers another 10 shots back at 879.
Charles Delong of Grand Valley was the lone player in the field of 74 to break par for the tourney and captured medalist honors with an aggregate score of 210 (-3).
Teaford, who notched his first collegiate victory last week, secured another top 10, finishing tied for sixth after rounds of 74-69-74 (217, +4). Also ranking in the top 20 was Bellarmine's , who carded consecutive 72s after opening with a 78. , meanwhile, got gradually better in his three rounds to finish in the top half of the field with rounds of 81, 75, and 72.
The Knights return to action Sept. 23 at the Findlay Invitational.
