Be Kind to Your (Young) Neighbors

Even though fireworks can be quite spectacular and draw large crowds, not everyone may feel comfortable. In young children, the loud noises of fireworks can cause sensory overload and confusion. They can also cause anxiety, panic attacks and fear.

Fireworks are illegal in Santa Clara. Please do not engage in illegal fireworks - it's inconsiderate to your neighbors, needlessly scares veterans, children and pets, is unsafe and could lead to fines. The possession and discharge of any fireworks, including "Safe and Sane" fireworks, are illegal in Santa Clara and in most of Santa Clara County. Illegal fireworks include bottle rockets, roman candles, firecrackers, and sparklers.

The City of Santa Clara wants everyone to stay safe over the 4th of July. Celebrate Independence Day by attending a permitted professional fireworks show.

Be kind to your (young) neighbors!
