Minister Zbigniew Rau’s phone call with Brazilian Minister of Foreign Affairs Carlos França

The conversation focused on Russia's war against Ukraine and its consequences both for European countries and on a global scale. Minister Zbigniew Rau outlined Poland's assessment of developments in the conflict and encouraged Brazil to unequivocally condemn the Kremlin's actions in Ukraine. The head of Brazilian diplomacy presented his country's unchanged position based on the assumption that the conflict can only be settled by seeking compromises and finding a political solution.

The phone call provided an opportunity to discuss bilateral issues, also in the light of the Polish-Brazilian agreements on the avoidance of double taxation and on the protection of classified information. Concluded in September, the agreements should help to better exploit the potential of economic cooperation between our countries.

The foreign ministers also presented their views on the Polish-Brazilian exchange of support for candidacies within the United Nations system.
