The University Libraries will migrate to a new search and discovery system, OneSearch, on July 6. OneSearch is a library search engine that includes records for books, articles, conference proceedings, theses and dissertations, videos, music, images, manuscripts, standards, maps and more. The new system comes with enhanced features for users and will allow students, faculty and staff to search across all University Libraries collections - both online and print - and to access, request, share and save items in one place.

With OneSearch, users will be able to:

  • Sign in with uark.edu accounts. Those who are already signed into other campus services, such as Blackboard or Office 365 online, will also be signed into OneSearch.

  • Find books, journal articles, media, dissertations, manuscripts and digital collections in a single search.

  • Easily save, export, email or cite results in a variety of citation styles.

  • Locate multiple versions and editions of the same work.

  • Save favorite items and searches, organize favorites in folders and set up alerts for new materials matching users' research interests.

  • Customize OneSearch by focusing results on preferred subject areas.

Libraries staff have created an FAQ webpage and instructional videos to help users navigate the change. In the lower right corner of every OneSearch page, there will be an exclamation point icon. Clicking on the icon will open a feedback form that patrons can use to submit a comment or report an issue. Users should note that permalinks from the legacy system will need to be updated.
