Student Works Showcased in the LAVC Art Gallery's Launch Exhibit

Check out outstanding student work at Launch, an exhibition of works selected by Sergio Teran, at the LAVC Art Gallery. The show runs from May 18-June 4, and August 28-September 7.

The LAVC Art Gallery presents Launch, an exhibition of students' works selected by artist Sergio Teran, which runs from May 18-September 7.

Launch features 57 works by LAVC students that were selected by Southern California artist Sergio Teran out of 253 submissions. The exhibit represents the dynamic offerings of the LAVC Art Department, all the works included in this exhibition were produced during the 2016-17 academic year. Featuring a wide range of media and technique, for many students in the exhibition this is their first opportunity for their work to receive attention in on a professional platform.

Student artists included in the exhibition are: Steven Acevedo, Brianna Aguilera, Maryam Aiiziloubaf, Blanca Alpizar, Aventisyan Ashkhen, Arthur Azaryan, Jaqueline Belevons, Cecile Bender, Dizhan Blu, Thomas Brown, Avonlea Canillas, Alejandro Carranza, Jennifer Causley, Analuisa Curiel, Natalie Delcid, Koko Deranteriasstan, Mike Derderian, Jerry Ellingson, Andre Flemming, Fatenh Fridoun, Richard Giesbret, Linda Gonzalez, Barbara Gosk, Robert Grigoryan, Daniel Kaufman, Alberto Keossian, Kenji Kosaka, Gabriella Leone, Ileana Maza, Marilin Martin, Karen Martinez, Timothy McGee, Andrew Ortiz, Katalin Radies, Brian Ramirez, Alyx Runyon, Kenyaz Sagivadyan, Francisco Salazar, Manuel Sanchez, Ellen Scott, Jessica Sheets, Brian Sohn, Stephanie Sorrels, Serena Thomas, Courtney Woolsey, and Jeanne Quirus.

The LAVC Art Gallery serves as a resource for students and the greater community of the San Fernando Valley. Presenting ambitious visual arts exhibitions, lectures and collaborative partnerships, it provides a dynamic platform for dialogue, inquiry, and discovery.

The Art Gallery is open Monday-Thursday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., and 6-9 p.m. when the college is in session during the semester; it is closed during the Summer. The exhibit is free and open to the public. Parking permits are required to park on campus during regular gallery hours; a daily parking permit can be purchased at parking pay stations in Parking Lot D or the Parking Structure. View map.
