Banta Stands for Second Amendment

Apr. 30, 2024

HARRISBURG - Today, Rep. Jake Banta (R-Erie) stood with Republican colleagues in the state House and Senate in support of the Second Amendment. Following the rally, Banta released the following statement.

"Article I, Section 21 of the Pennsylvania Constitution states, 'The right of the citizens to bear arms in defense of themselves and the State shall not be questioned.' I am proud to stand with my fellow Pennsylvanians today in support of protecting their rights.

"As a veteran and gun-owner, I unequivocally believe in our Constitution's commitment to guarantee our citizens the ability to own firearms. Safeguarding the Second Amendment is an essential measure to promote a society of individual liberty.

"As Democrats in Harrisburg have made efforts to prevent gun-ownership across the Commonwealth, I have and will continue to stand against all attempts to disarm the people of Pennsylvania."

Banta represents the 4th Legislative District in Pennsylvania House of Representatives, serving parts of Erie County.
