Rafael Wildfire Update

Updated 3 p.m. CST 06/23/2021

Please review the latest update noted below in response to the Rafael wildfire in Arizona.

The Rafael wildfire started southwest of Flagstaff on June 18. The growth of the fire slowed during Tuesday but local news continues to report the fire is 0% contained.

The areas southwest of I-40, near the fire, remain at 'set' status (regarding evacuation) unless conditions change rapidly. The Brookdale Flagstaff community is north of I-40. At this time, we have not received guidance to evacuate. We continue to monitor the fire and will follow the guidance of local fire authorities in regard to evacuations if that need arises.

In the event that we are notified that we will need to evacuate, we have a detailed emergency preparedness plan in place that includes moving residents to a safer area with accompanying care associates, providing temporary accommodations as well as food, beverages and necessary personal items.

We are committed to the safety and well-being of our residents. We continue to watch the fires closely and are following the direction of local authorities.
