P8I LRMR ASW Aircraft at La Reunion Island

Indian Navy's P8I LRMR ASW aircraft arrived at La Reunion Island in Southern IOR on 09 May 2022 on a five day deployment. During the deployment, P8I aircraft will engage with French warships operating in the region and undertake coordinated surveillance missions in area to enhance maritime security and safety in the Southern Indian Ocean, including the Mozambique Channel. The P8I aircraft, with advanced capabilities, endurance & demonstrated reach, had previously operated from La Reunion in March 2020. Indian Navy and French Navy have been regularly undertaking coordinated operations, as part of Varuna series of bilateral exercises.
