Participation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs at the 21st Annual Meeting of the Group of Landlocked Developed Countries

22 September 2022 on the sidelines of the "High Level Week" of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Sirojiddin Muhriddin, took part in the 21st Annual Meeting of the Group of Landlocked Developed Countries (LLDCs).

At the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed his opinion on topical issues of cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Group LLDCs, in particular on water and energy, transport, socio-economic and environmental interaction of these countries.

In his speech, the Minister also mentioned the importance of implementing the Vienna Program of Action as an important element in integrating LLDCs towards achieving the 2030 Agenda and its goals. In this regard, S. Muhriddin recalled the global initiatives of the country to declare 2025 as the International Year for the Protection of Glaciers and creation of the International Fund for the Protection of Glaciers under the auspices of the UN.
