The closing date for the public to comment on the proposed change to the 2022 Yukon-Charley River National Preserve Superintendent's Compendium has been extended to February 18, 2022.

After review and consideration of the need for annual updates, the Superintendent is proposing a single substantive change: allowance under 36 CFR 13.35(d) of select cutting of standing dead trees by members of the public from September through April for the sole purpose of heating public use cabins and temporary shelters within the preserve provided certain conditions are met. Details regarding the proposed change and relevant conditions, including where trees can be cut, are available for viewing and comment via the link below and the 'Open for Comment' tab on the left-side of the page.
