OK Policy hosting community listening sessions in Weatherford, Altus

To hear the concerns of everyday Oklahomans, the Oklahoma Policy Institute will be hosting listening sessions in southwestern and western Oklahoma.

Two listening sessions are planned at the end of the month in Weatherford and Altus:

  • Tuesday, July 27, 2021, 6:45-8 p.m. at the Day Business Enterprise Center, Southwestern Oklahoma State University, 1121 N. 7th St. in Weatherford
  • Wednesday, July 28, 2021, 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the Pioneer Heritage Center, Western Oklahoma State College, 2801 N. Main St. in Altus.

Both events are free and open to the public, and light refreshments will be provided.

OK Policy is a non-partisan organization that seeks to advance equitable and fiscally responsible state policies to expand opportunity for all Oklahomans through its research, analysis, and advocacy. OK Policy also operates a grassroots outreach and advocacy arm, known as Together Oklahoma, to mobilize residents to create change in the state.

The listening sessions are designed to gather direct input from Oklahomans about where state laws and policies fall short in serving the needs of Oklahomans statewide. The informal session will allow for group conversations, as well as a short survey that participants can complete.

Input from these events will shape OK Policy's work during next year's legislative session to advance policies that help establish safe communities, keep Oklahomans healthy, and ensure our families and neighbors can thrive.

For more information about the listening sessions, contact Together Oklahoma Regional Organizer Jacobi Crowder at 580-280-9562, call the OK Policy office at 918-794-3944 or email [email protected].
