Bellin to Offer Mix-and-Match COVID Boosters

10/25/2021

Existing vaccination locations will offer all three vaccine types beginning Oct. 26

Bellin Health will begin offering "mix-and-match" COVID-19 vaccine boosters Tuesday, Oct. 26 at its Ashwaubenon community vaccination site, Green Bay Fastlane drive-thru testing site and all primary care clinics and FastCare locations.

As announced late last week, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has now approved booster shots for all adults who received the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine, as well as a select group of individuals who have received both does of the Moderna vaccine. Boosters for a select group of those who received the Pfizer vaccine have been available since late September.

The CDC also has approved a "mix-and-match" booster framework that allows those eligible to get a booster of any of the three approved vaccines, regardless of which one they received initially. Bellin Health will offer the mix-and-match option to eligible patients at all vaccination sites.

Here is a look at who is eligible for boosters and when:

Received Pfizer:

  • Eligible six months after receiving second dose
  • Recommended: Seniors (65-plus), long-term care residents and adults with certain underlying health conditions
  • Also may get the shot: Adults under age 50 with underlying health conditions, healthcare workers and frontline essential workers

Received Moderna:

  • Eligible six months after receiving second dose
  • Recommended: Seniors (65-plus), long-term care residents and adults with certain underlying health conditions
  • Also may get the shot: Adults under age 50 with underlying health conditions, healthcare workers and frontline essential workers
