Brown Announces $210,000 For Economic Development in Southern Ohio

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) announced that the United States Economic Development Administration (EDA) has awarded a $210,000 grant to the Ohio Valley Regional Development Commission to establish a comprehensive economic development strategy (CEDS) that helps support private capital investments and job creation and strengthens the regional economy.

"Ohio workers can compete with anyone in the world, and this investment will help ensure the communities in this region have the resources they need to do so," said Brown. "I'm pleased to see the Economic Development Agency recognize the strength of Ohio workers, and I support any effort that create jobs in Ohio."

The Ohio Valley Regional Development Commission includes Adams, Brown, Clermont, Fayette, Gallia, Highland, Jackson, Lawrence, Pike, Ross, Scioto, and Vinton counties.

EDA grants are awarded through a competitive process based upon the application's merit, the applicant's eligibility, and the availability of funds. More information on EDA's grant process and investment process can be found at www.eda.gov.
