To all KIMOTO supporters,

Motoko Yamada, Director, General Manager, Administration Division

This is a report from the general managers and division heads of the Technology Division, Sales Division, Digital Twin Division, and Administration Division on the consolidated business results for the second quarter of the fiscal year ending March 31, 2022.

Profile of Motoko Yamada

The fifth medium-term management plan begins from the fiscal year ending March 31, 2023, and results for the first quarter have shown an increase in both sales and profit compared to the previous year.

The following is a report on topics from each division.

Technology Division
The Company was able to respond flexibly to sudden fluctuations in production volume due to the effects of multi-functionalization. In addition to our efforts towards multi-functionalization, we will continue to work with the Digital Twin Division to accelerate the digital transformation of our factories and strive to improve productivity even more.
In addition, we will steadily promote development workflow reforms and initiatives to reduce environmental impact and increase the number of high value-added products that can contribute to the world.

Digital Twin Business
Increased work in 3D data and map data creation for national land resiliency projects, a set of government policies, led to an increase in orders received.
In addition, demand for BIM and CIM in the civil engineering and construction industries is expanding, and we are confident that we have been able to leverage the technology we have developed to benefit our clients and the world at large.

Film Business
Despite headwinds like the sluggish production of smartphones, cars and electronic components owing to the effects of the COVID-19 lockdown (partial disruption of supply chains and production operations) in some Chinese cities, as well as surging raw material and logistics costs, there was an increase in the number of new projects taken on, resulting in a boost from the previous fiscal year. To achieve the fifth medium-term management plan, we will focus on global megatrends (automobiles, home appliances, next-generation interfaces, and medical care) and aggressively take on new challenges, including high value-added base materials and liquid sales.

Administration Division
Once again this year, we were able to hold our General Meeting of Shareholders in May, the quickest of all listed companies with a fiscal year ending in March.Currently, we are implementing even more workflow reforms to prepare for the new backbone system that will be launched next year, and we will continue our efforts to make possible a three-day workweek for the entire company.

KIMOTO Farm
New sake produced during the current brewing year made with rice grown on the farm is ready. We introduced a third variation to our line-up this year. Each has its own unique flavor. The weather continues to be uncertain, but we will keep pressing forward with our rice cultivation striving to find the right tastes for everyone.

We're currently experiencing a resurgence of COVID-19 infections, therefore, we will do everything possible to ensure the safety and security of our employees and their families.
Despite the abnormal weather and instability around the world, we sincerely hope for your continued health and safety, and the KIMOTO Group as a whole is committed to do what we can daily to be more flexible and fulfill the expectations of KIMOTO fans.

Thank you for your continued support.
