Kiama Municipal Council is seeking community feedback on the proposed Special Rate Variation (SRV) for the next two years.
Council originally applied for a three year SRV for the years 2018-19 to 2020-21 in February 2018.
However, the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART) only granted the SRV for the first of the three years.
The first year of the SRV (2018-19) will expire on 30 June 2019, and Council needs to reapply for an SRV for the next two years (2019-20 and 2020-21).
While the overall impact of the proposed SRV will be no different to the original three-year SRV that was applied for earlier in 2018, Council is seeking community feedback about its reapplication.
The SRV, which is part of Council's Long Term Financial Plan, is required to meet the NSW Government 'Fit for the Future' requirements.
Council has placed on public exhibition an updated Long Term Financial Plan 2018-19 to 2027-28, and the related Operational Plan 2018-19 and Delivery Program 2017-21:
Submissions can be made until 4pm, Thursday, 6 December 2018.
Council has also updated its SRV information portal: www.kiama.nsw.gov.au/srv
Council will consider the SRV application, including public submissions, at a meeting on 18 December 2018.
