FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
After nearly two years of investigation, a man is now jailed for the July 25, 2017 drive-by murder of 15-year-old Jaezoine Woods in the J.C. Napier public housing development.
Gang Unit detectives this afternoon arrested Tevin Griffin, 22, on a first-degree murder indictment at his Brentridge Circle apartment. At the time of his arrest today, Griffin, a convicted felon, was free on bond for the February 12, 2017 murder of David White on 16th Avenue North. He is scheduled to stand trial in that case next month. He was also serving a five-year probated sentence for aggravated assault and cocaine convictions related to the shooting of a man on Blank Street in September 2017.
The investigation into Jaezoine Woods' murder, which is being led by Hermitage Precinct Detective Will Mathis, shows that the target of the gunfire was actually someone else in a crowd of which Woods was a part.
Griffin's bond on the Woods murder indictment is set at $250,000.
