On her second day of her working visit (17 May 2022) State Secretary Ingrid Brocková was received by Foreign Affairs Minister of Iran Hossein Amir-Abdollahian. Both partners confirmed their interest in the successful finalization of negotiations on the nuclear deal that is an essential tool for strengthening bilateral relations with Iran. "We exchanged views on the current developments in the world, especially the present situation in Afghanistan and Ukraine. Both our countries continue to develop efforts to provide refugees with a life of dignity, and to integrate them into society. We confirmed our interest in the tradition of annual inter-ministerial consultations," confirmed the State Secretary.

Today Brocková also visited the Zanjireh Omid (Chain of Hope) charity organization talked with its Director General Maryam Marashi, with Director General of the Ministry of Health of Iran Amir Saakih also in attendance. Since 2007, this Iran non-governmental organization has provided healthcare via a network of volunteers (doctors) to poor children and in cooperation with UNHCR to the children of Afghan refugees in Iran as well. The State Secretary presented the organization with a financial contribution designed primarily to treat children of Afghan refugees. "The Slovak Republic is ready to share its experiences from implementing a similar project that was carried out with SlovakAid support by a team of pediatric cardiac surgeons from the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases in Kenya," the State Secretary explained.
