Vehicle Pursuit with SWAT Activation - Long Beach Boulevard and Pacific Coast Highway- On April 22, 2024at approximately 11:18 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop of a suspect vehicle in the area of15thStreet and Locust Avenue.When officers attemptedto conduct a high-risk vehicle stop, the vehicle fled, resulting in a vehicle pursuit. While in pursuit,the suspect vehicle collided with another vehicle. Long Beach Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and transported the driver of the private citizen vehicle to a local hospital for their non-life-threateninginjuries. in the area ofLong Beach Boulevard and Pacific Coast Highway, threesuspects attemptedto flee the area on foot, which led toabrief foot pursuit.Ause of force occurredduring the foot pursuit, where officersperformeda takedown to take one of the suspects into custody. SWAT was activatedand establisheda perimeter to search for the third suspect inthe area ofNorth Pasadena Avenue and Pacific Coast Highway. After a conducting their search, they were unable to locatethe outstanding suspect. Officers recovered two firearms from the suspect vehicle.

The suspects were identified as:

  • r, vehicle driver/owner to permit other to carry a firearm into a vehicle, of carrying concealed weapon in vehicle, carrying a loaded handgun, carrying a loaded firearm on/in person and vehicle, driving a vehicle with suspended or revoked license, driving under the influence, reckless driving with injury, failureto stop at a red light, failureto stop vehicleat a crosswalk, driving at an unsafe speed, taking vehicle without owner's consent. Bail is pending magistrate review.

  • Ronald Frances England, a 27-year-old person experiencing homelessness in Long Beach, who was booked for carrying a loaded handgun, carrying a loaded firearm, carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle, and resisting a peace officer. Bail ispending magistrate review.
