Dr. Jeffrey Proctor Becomes First Urologist at Georgia Urology to Be Designated as an InterStim™ Center of Excellence

Georgia Urology, the largest urology practice in Georgia, announced that Dr. Jeffrey Proctor has been designated as a center of Excellence for InterStim™, an implantable device that sends mild electrical impulses stimulating the sacral nerves to control the bladder and the muscles related to urinary and bowel function. This designation recognizes Dr. Proctor's exemplary use of the InterStim™ system and his commitment to patient care for those suffering from symptoms associated with overactive bladder (OAB), fecal incontinence (FI), and nonobstructive urinary retention.

Physicians included in the InterStim™ Center of Excellence program have been recognized by Medtronic. The program honors highly trained and experienced physicians that have established a branded care pathway.

"I'm honored to have been selected by Medtronic for this recognition," says Dr. Proctor. "Many patients suffer from overactive bladders and incontinence, conditions that limit their social, professional, and personal lives. InterStim™ allows Georgia Urology to provide a safe and effective treatment that is life-changing."

Dr. Proctor is a board-certified urologist and has recently been named one of Georgia's leading urologists in Castle Connolly's prestigious Top Doctors listings. He treats interstitial cystitis, overactive bladder, testosterone deficiency, enlarged prostate, erectile dysfunction, kidney stones, hematuria, and other urologic conditions. Dr. Proctor sees patients at the Acworth and Cartersville offices.
