Friends of Madison Public Library BIG BOOK SALE

posted May 23, 2022 - 12:29 pm

Seven library Friends' groups are pooling their inventory for a large sale of gently used and donated books. The sale takes place Saturday, June 4, 2022, 9am-4pm, rain or shine, at the Madison Public Library Service & Support Center at 1301 W. Badger Road in Madison. All proceeds benefit Madison Public Libraries.

"Last year's first-ever joint book sale was so successful, raising thousands of dollars to support Madison's libraries," said Kathy Schneider, President of Friends of Pinney Library, and coordinator of this year's sale. "We're especially grateful to American Girl, who donated two pallets of their iconic children's books for this sale, which we think will be very popular."

Sale items will be replenished throughout the day, and there will be a bag sale from 3-4pm for $5 per bag. Friends accept cash, check or credit card payment.
Prices include:

hardbound books $2
paperback books $1
children's hardbound books $1
children's paperback and board books $.50
CDS, DVDs, and audiobooks on CD $1

To add to the shopping experience, Sabor Regio food cart will be on site from 9am-1pm, selling coffee and churros in the morning and tacos and other treats for lunch. Extra parking will be available in the Coakley Relocation Systems parking lot, adjacent to the Library's Service & Support Center.

Participating Friends' groups include those for the Central, Goodman South Madison, Hawthorne, Lakeview, Meadowridge, Monroe Street, and Pinney libraries. Interested people can also learn more about becoming Friends' members or volunteering at the sale.
