Vietnam helps Laos fight against COVID-19

(Bqp.vn) - The Vietnamese Ministry of National Defence held a ceremony to give medical supplies to the Lao Ministry of Defence in the fight against COVID-19 on June 17.

On behalf of the leaders of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defence, Lieutenant General Vu Chien Thang, Director of the Foreign Relations Department under the Ministry of National Defence, showed empathy for Laos's difficulties in response to COVID-19 and hoped that those medical supplies from Vietnam would partly help the country overcome difficulties, giving normal lives to the people soon.

For his part, Lao ambassador to Vietnam Sengphet Houngboungnuang sincerely thanked the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defence for its timely support. He said that since the COVID-19 outbreak happened in Laos last April, the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defence gave medical supplies and sent medical experts to the Lao Ministry of Defence for COVID-19 prevention and control. This support contributed effectively to the fight against COVID-19 in Laos, he added.
