PIO# 22-08-1 WPBPD# N/A

Millions of neighbors from thousands of communities around the country will celebrate National Night Out (NNO) across the United States August 2. In West Palm Beach, this will happen from 5 - 9 p.m. at the Lake Pavilion/Great Lawn at 101 S. Flagler Dr.

Joining the police department will be the West Palm Beach Fire Department and other organizations, including the West Palm Beach Police Foundation, for activities and displays featuring police vehicles, fire trucks and specialty units from both departments. Other activities for the kids include a DJ, bounce house and PARTY trailer.

NNO began in 1984 as law enforcement agencies partnered with neighborhood watch groups, civic groups, crime prevention associations and volunteers across the nation. The first annual National Night Out involved 2.5 million neighbors across 400 communities in 23 states. West Palm Beach is one of 89 cities in Florida participating in NNO.
