Empowering Veterans with Aerial Robotics: Skydio's 2024 Scholarship Expansion

With great excitement, we are pleased to announce that the Skydio Veteran Aircraft Scholarship program will be returning and expanding in 2024! Building on the accomplishments of the campaign in previous years, we are continuing our support for our veterans by providing them with opportunities to enhance their careers through the use of autonomous drone technology.

Through the Skydio Veteran Aircraft Scholarship program, we will be distributing Skydio 2+ Pro Kits to select recipients. Veterans encounter a range of challenges when transitioning out of the military and into civilian life, and our goal is to offer help and tools that will facilitate veterans' professional development and success.

Over ten percent of Skydio's staff is made up of individuals who have served in the armed forces. Because of their commitment, work ethic, and sense of duty, our business culture is enriched, and they are a driving force behind innovation in our products and services.

Mission of the Scholarship:

The goal of the Skydio Veteran Aircraft Scholarship is to give veterans skills and training that will help them pursue established professions in the civilian sector. A Skydio 2+ Pro Kit will be provided to the recipients of the scholarship. This kit will include a subscription to our Skydio Autonomy Enterprise for a period of one year, the ability to perform 3D scans, and access to our online Skydio Training Academy for a period of ninety days.

How to Apply:

Individuals who are interested in applying for the scholarship are required to submit a personal essay or a video/presentation no longer than 800 words or 3 minutes in length, in which they share their story and describe how they intend to use the drone to advance their careers in the civilian sector. Skydio's own veteran community will review the submissions and select the scholarship recipients.

Applications can be submitted HERE.

The deadline to submit is August 31, 2024.

Skydio believes drone technology holds immense opportunity for veterans seeking a rewarding and impactful career in the civilian sector. We consider it a privilege to help individuals who have offered their service to our nation, and we look forward to playing one part in the critical shift from the armed forces to a successful professional career.

To all veterans, we say thank you.
