Paid Traineeship for young graduates at the European Union Delegation to Timor-Leste

Are you curious to learn more about the EU and how the EU Delegation represents EU interests and values in Timor-Leste?

Are you a young graduate interested in international cooperation?

Are you interested on topics like environment, climate change, or digital transformation?

Do you have a degree in international relations and cooperation, economics, environment or any other relevant subject?

Do you have an excellent command of English and Tetum (written and oral)?

Do you also speak Portuguese?

Do you know how to work with social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)?

What do we offer?

A paid traineeship of up to 6 months in one of the Sectionsof the EU Delegation to Timor-Leste to start in November 2020.

Main tasks:

  • Drafting reports, researching and analysing specific topics related to EU / Timor-Leste relations, more specifically in areas related to climate change, environment and digitalisation.
  • Attending events organised by the EU Delegation and/or its partners.
  • Following the activities of the EU Delegation.
  • Assisting in the organisation for public events across the country.
  • Providing back-office support for the section staff (answering requests, taking notes, preparing meetings, etc.).

The selected trainee will receive a monthly grant to cover living expenses. All costs related to accommodation and insurance must be borne by the trainee.

Applications from non-eligible candidates will not be considered. After the evaluation of all applications, shortlisted candidates will be contacted and invited for an interview. Unsuccessful candidates will be notified by email. In case the selected candidate is not able to present the required documents, his/her candidacy will be rejected.

The Delegation informs that the traineeship could be postponed, suspended or even cancelled considering the very evolving context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
