New funding opportunity for human services organizations

Published August 16 2022

Nonprofit and community organizations offering behavioral health services, housing and employment services to Bellevue residents can apply for funding through the City of Bellevue. The funds are part of the city's Housing Stability Program, created in response to the passage of House Bill 1590 by the state Legislature in 2020. HB1590 enacted a 10th of a percent sales tax increase to fund affordable housing and related services.

The city anticipates $1.6 million of this funding will be available for proposals that support housing stability for individuals and households. Organizations must identify the specific service or program the funding would support in their application. Please note, this RFP is separate from one released by the city and ARCH on July 12 for affordable housing projects.

The city's Human Services Commission will review the proposals and give funding recommendations to the City Council this fall. Human Services is releasing the notice of funding availability, Tuesday Aug. 16. Applications, available at Human Services Housing Stability, are due by 4:30 p.m., Monday, Sept. 26. For more information, please contact Leslie R. Miller, human services manager (425-452-2824 or [email protected]).
