Mahoning County: Construction update

Mahoning County (Thursday, April 22, 2024) - The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Mahoning County next week. All scheduled work is weather permitting.

Interstate 76 noise wall, Milton Township
The ramp from I-76 westbound to SR 534 is closedthrough early May for noise wall construction. The detour is I-76 westbound to SR 225 to I-76 eastbound to SR 534.

Interstate 680 lighting improvements
I-680 at Midlothian Blvd. is reduced to two lanes through late April.Estimated completion, October 2024.

Interstate 680 resurfacing
NEW IMPACT- On Monday, April 29, the ramp from Homewood Ave. to I-680 northbound will be closed between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. for pavement repairs. The detour will be Indianola Ave. to Poland Ave. to Powersdale Ave. to I-680.
CONTINUING IMPACT- -680 northbound and southbound at Matthews Rd. is reduced to two lanes through May 2024 for bridge repairs. Estimated completion, October 2024.

State Route 165 resurfacing, Beaver & Springfield Townships
SR 165 between S. Range Rd. and the Columbiana County line has various lane restrictions. Estimated completion, late July 2024.

State Route 170 pavement reconstruction, Village of New Middletown & Springfield Township
CONTINUING IMPACT - Westbound E. Middletown Rd. to SR 170 will be closed through mid- May. A detour will be posted.
CONTINUING IMPACT- SR 170 southbound between Struthers Rd. and Middletown Rd. is closedthrough mid-October for roadway reconstruction. The detour is SR 617 to SR 165 to SR 626 to SR 7 to US 224 to SR 170. Estimated completion, October 2025.
