Appeal after man seriously assaulted in Woolwich

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following an assault in Woolwich.

Officers were called at approximately 03:25hrs on Sunday, 17 March to reports of a 35-year-old man assaulted close to the bus stop outside Woolwich library in Wellington Street, SE18.

London Ambulance Service attended and the man was taken to hospital for treatment - he remains there in a critical condition receiving treatment.

The suspect is described as a Black man, around 5ft 10" tall and was wearing dark clothing,
