Lane Closures on I-285 in DeKalb this Weekend for Resurfacing
ATLANTA METRO -Work crews for the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) will install lane closures on Interstate 285 (I-285) in DeKalb County to continue a resurfacing project on the interstate between Ashford Dunwoody Road and Henderson Mill Road/Lavista Road. This project will include maintenance activities on 6 miles of I-285 to improve the viability of the roadway materials and provide a smoother ride and enhanced lane striping for drivers.
Weather and on-site conditions permitting, two left lanes will be closed on I-285 westbound from Chamblee Tucker Road to Ashford Dunwoody Road from 7 p.m. on Friday, April 19 until 6 a.m. on Saturday. Drivers through the area should expect traffic delays, plan alternate routes and/or allow additional travel times during these work hours.
This $38 M maintenance project is scheduled for completion in late fall 2024.
Advisory: Motorists traveling in the area are reminded to reduce their speeds in the work zone. Motorists are also encouraged to wear seatbelts, eliminate distractions behind the wheel, and plan their routes before getting on the road. Call 511, visit 511ga.org, or download the Georgia 511 app.
