Business

By passing the milestone of 1,000 EuroflirTM ordered, Safran is once again demonstrating its global leadership in air, land, and sea optronic systems. The EuroflirTM family promises to deliver unmatched performance through 100% in-house technology, enabling armed forces to carry out their missions. This was worthy of a ceremony at Eurosatory!

Safran Electronics & Defense optronic solutions are in the spotlight at Eurosatory. Indeed, the EuroflirTM family of airborne electro-optical systems is celebrating its 1,000th order on Wednesday, June 15, 2022. This is an opportunity to look back at the missions performed by this flagship system, and to prepare for the future of airborne electro-optics.

Safran, 60 years of experience in optronics to ensure effective and reliable deployment of forces

For more than 60 years, Safran has developed and delivered optronic systems that are universally recognized, and has established itself as the European leader in this extremely demanding technology segment. All of these systems are combat proven and integrated on various types of platforms, including mission aircraft, drones and helicopters. Today, more than 1,000 Euroflir™ electro-optical systems stamped Safran Electronics & Defense have been ordered or delivered to equip civil and military aircraft.

Improving the performance of our equipment to contribute to national sovereignty

The history of Safran's expertise in optronic systems is also the one of a constant drive to improve the performance of the technologies we offer. In 2017, the latest-generation EuroflirTM 410 was launched, ushering in a new era for the range of airborne electro-optical systems. This was followed by the EuroflirTM 510 and EuroflirTM 610 systems, respectively for the Tiger MkIII and the EUROMALE. With these systems, the objective of being one of the key elements of civil and military aircraft in their intelligence, protection, search and rescue missions, is achieved thanks to unique performances in all-weather long-range observation and designation.
