Van Oord and TKF sign contracts for cable supply offshore wind park Hollandse Kust Noord and Baltic Eagle

TKF announces the award of two contracts with Van Oord for the supply of 66 kV inter array cables for Hollandse Kust Noord (HKN), located in the North Sea, and for the Baltic Eagle wind park, located in the Baltic Sea. After Windpark Fryslân, these will be respectively the second and third project that TKF is realizing together with Van Oord.

The contracted scope for TKF in HKN includes the manufacturing and delivery of 140 km of 66 kV aluminum core cables and accessories. The offshore wind park HKN is located at approximately 18 km from the Dutch coast. The commissioning is scheduled for 2023.

The contracted scope for TKF in Baltic Eagle includes the manufacturing and delivery of 79 km of 66 kV aluminum core cables and accessories. The offshore wind park Baltic Eagle is located in the German waters at approximately 30 km northeast of the island Rügen. The realization of this offshore wind park will result in savings of approximately one million tons CO₂ per year. The commissioning for Baltic Eagle is scheduled for 2024.

'We are proud to announce these two contracts with Van Oord and herewith contribute to the European target for CO₂ reduction. After a pleasant cooperation with Van Oord in the Windpark Fryslân project we look forward to working together and we trust to successfully complete these projects', says Alexander van der Lof, CEO at TKH Group NV.
