Road and Dock Closures for Thursday, April 18, 2024

CITY OF WEST PALM BEACH ENGINEERING, PUBLIC WORKS & UTILITY ROAD CLOSURES

  • Washington Road between Roosevelt Place and Royal Palm Road (construction extended through April 2024): Road closures as part of a streetscape redesign, including new underground utilities, sidewalks, and storm drainage improvements. Washington Road closed from Monceaux Road to Royal Palm Road. The following detours are in place:
    • Northbound Washington Road traffic should go west on Greenwood Drive to Olive Avenue, north on Olive Avenue to Almeria Road, and east on Almeria Road to Flagler Drive.
    • Southbound Washington Road traffic should go west on Pershing Way to Olive Avenue, south on Olive Avenue to Greenwood Drive, and east on Greenwood Drive to Washington Road.
  • Eleventh Street from Ninth Street to Mangonia Circle (through April 2024): Full closure for sanitary sewer installation.
  • 300 Block North Clematis Alleyway (extended through May 2024): Full closure of alleyway between Dixie Highway and Olive Avenue for underground utilities improvements.
  • 500 Block South Clematis Alleyway (through July 2024 ): Full closure of alleyway between Quadrille Plaza Drive and Rosemary Avenue for underground utilities improvements. Hard closure at Quadrille Plaza Drive between Clematis & Datura Street. A detour is being provided.
  • Northwood Hills from 39 Street to 44 Street between Windsor Avenue and Greenwood Avenue (extended through June 2024): Partial Lane closures with flagging operations for underground utilities improvements.
  • Datura Street between Flagler Drive & Dixie Highway (extended through May 2024): Partial Lane closures with flagging operations for storm sewer rehabilitation.
  • Tamarind Avenue between Banyan Boulevard & Seventh Street (extended through June 2024): Full Road closures as part of a streetscape redesign, including new underground utilities, sidewalks, lighting and storm drainage improvements.
  • Eucalyptus Street between Florida Avenue & Claremore Avenue (through April 2024): Partial Lane Closures for storm sewer rehabilitation at Eucalyptus Street from North Dixie Highway to North Olive Avenue.
  • Sunset Road between South Olive Avenue & South Flagler Drive (East/West) & Sunset Road & Pershing Way (through April 2024): Intersection closure at Pershing Way & Sunset Road for Sanitary repair. Work at this location is ongoing.
  • Pine Terrace & Washington Road (through April 2024): Full intersection closure for underground utility replacement.
  • Boyd Street, Boyd Street & Dock Street intersection (Phase 1) (through May 2024): Expect Intermittent Lane closures during the drainage improvements on Boyd Street and Ardmore Road (from Dock Street to Ridgeway Avenue).
  • Charles Street, Dock Street & Ridgeway Avenue (Phase 2) (through August 2024): Expect intermittent lane closures during the drainage improvements.

EVENT ROAD CLOSURES

  • Clematis by Night - Thursday, April 18 & Thursday, April 25: North & South Clematis Streets between Narcissus Avenue and Flagler Drive, and Lantana Avenue between Banyan Boulevard and North Clematis Streetfrom 1 p.m. until 10 p.m.
  • The Square Closure - Friday, April 19 through Sunday, April 21 & Friday, April 26 through Sunday, 28: Rosemary Avenue between Okeechobee Boulevard and Hibiscus Street.

PRIVATE PROJECT ROAD CLOSURES

  • One Flagler - Chase Street between Lakeview Avenue and Okeechobee Boulevard (through Summer 2024): The road is closed for construction. The eastern sidewalk is closed for construction.
  • One Flagler - Lakeview Avenue between Flagler Drive and Chase Street (through Summer 2024): Single lane closure due to construction. No site deliveries in the work zone.
  • 301 Clematis Street / 300 Banyan Boulevard (extended through April 2024):
    • Sidewalk closures along site frontage on Banyan Boulevard and North Olive Avenue
    • Alley north of Clematis Street is closed between North Olive Avenue and the Chase Bank Plaza.
    • Closure of left-most lane along North Olive Avenue between Banyan Boulevard and Clematis Street.
  • The Square East/West Towers (extended through May 2024):
    • Gardenia Street between Rosemary Avenue and Quadrille Boulevard, full road closure for demolition. Pedestrian access is being maintained along the northern side of the road.
  • 350 Australian Avenue (extended through Summer 2024):
    • West side sidewalk closure on Clearwater Drive South of Banyan Boulevard for utility work and building construction activities. A pedestrian detour has been provided.
  • 575 Rosemary Tower (Through Summer 2024)
    • Sidewalk closure along the site. A pedestrian detour has been provided.
  • Park Central Apartments - (Extended through April 2024)
    • Dock Street closed between Flamingo Road and Parker Avenue
  • Mint Car Wash - Olive Avenue south of Southern Boulevard (through July 2024): Sidewalk closure in front of property. Intermittent lane closure will occur using flagging operations.
  • 512 Clematis (through May 2025): Sidewalk closure on southwest corner of Clematis Avenue & Quadrille Plaza Drive.
  • Olara Boat Dock (through May 2024): Sidewalk closure on east side of Flagler Drive between Pine Street and Butler Drive.

PALM BEACH COUNTY ENGINEERING & PUBLIC WORKS ROAD CLOSURES IN THE CITY

  • North Jog Road north of 45th Street to North of Bee Line Highway (until further notice): periodic daytime northbound and southbound lane closures for FPL pole replacement and overhead work.
  • Congress Avenue from Okeechobee Boulevard to Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard (until further notice): Periodic nighttime lane closures for milling and resurfacing.
  • Northlake Boulevard at Ibis Boulevard and at Shoppes of Ibis (until further notice): Periodic eastbound right lane closure for mast arm installation.
  • Congress Avenue from Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard to 45th Street (until further notice): Periodic nighttime lane closures for milling and paving.

FLORIDA DEPT. OF TRANSPORTATION (FDOT) ROAD CLOSURES IN THE CITY OF WPB

BelvedereRoad Improvements at the I-95 Northbound On/Off-Ramp Connection (through Summer 2024)

  • The I-95 northbound entrance ramp from Belvedere Road may have one inside lane closed daily, 9:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., and nightly, 9:30 p.m. until 5:30 a.m.
  • Belvedere Road at I-95 may have one outside lane closed in each direction, daily 9:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., and nightly, 9:30 p.m. until 5:30 a.m.
  • Belvedere Road will have one lane closed in each direction as needed, daily 7 a.m. until 4 p.m., Monday through Friday and nightly, 9 p.m. until 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.

    I-95 Southbound Off-Ramp to Belvedere Road (through Summer 2024)

  • The I-95 southbound exit ramp to Belvedere Road will be closed overnight as needed, 10 p.m. until 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Motorists will be detoured to Belvedere Road via westbound State Road 80/Southern Boulevard and northbound Australian Avenue.
  • The I-95 southbound exit ramp to Palm Beach International Airport (PBIA) will be closed overnight, 10 p.m. until 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Motorists will be detoured to PBIA via westbound State Road 80/Southern Boulevard and northbound Australian Avenue.

    State Road (SR) 5/US 1 (Dixie Highway) Improvements Projects (through Spring 2024)

  • Project Limits: 0.437-mile road improvements project on State Road 5/US 1 from North Quadrille Boulevard to Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard.
  • Work includes milling and resurfacing the existing roadway, improving curb and gutter, signing and pavement markings, upgrading pedestrian curb ramps to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards, and upgrading pedestrian signalization.
  • Lane closures may be in place from Quadrille Boulevard to Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday to facilitate signalization work and utility adjustment.
  • Lane closures will be in place from Quadrille Boulevard to Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m., Sunday through Friday to facilitate paving operations.

    State Road (SR) 710/Beeline Highway Reconstruction Project (through Late 2029)

  • Project Limits: 3.142-mile project in the cities of Palm Beach Gardens, Riviera Beach and West Palm Beach began on March 18, 2024.
  • Improvements consist of widening State Road 710/Beeline Highway from Northlake Boulevard to State Road 708/Blue Heron Boulevard from 4 lanes to 6 lanes, replacing and widening the Florida's Turnpike bridge over State Road 710/Beeline Highway, constructing an at-grade partial Continuous Flow Intersection (CFI) at the intersection of State Road 710/Beeline Highway and Northlake Boulevard, adding sidewalks and bicycle lanes on both sides of State Road 710/Beeline Highway, upgrading railroad crossings, drainage, signage, lighting, signalization and pavement markings throughout project limits, and upgrading Intelligent Transportation System (ITS).
  • State Road (SR) 710/Beeline Highway from State Road 708/Blue Heron to Northlake Boulevard will have one inside lane closed in each direction, daily, 7 a.m. until 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • State Road 710/Beeline Highway and Northlake Boulevard will have one inside lane closed in each direction, daily, 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • State Road 710/Beeline Highway and Jog Road will have one inside lane closed in each direction, daily, 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • State Road 710/Beeline Highway and Haverhill Road will have one inside lane closed in each direction, daily, 7 a.m. until 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.

    Tri-Rail Pedestrian Bridge Rehabilitation (Until Further Notice)

  • SFRTA is performing rehabilitation work at all Tri-Rail station pedestrian bridges, with the exception of the Golden Glades and Miami Airport Stations.
  • The work will improve the safety and integrity of bridges by repairing localized corrosion and expansion joint wear, upgrading protective coating and painting on metal surfaces, replacing concrete slabs and upgrading screens to corrosion-resistant aluminum.
  • Pedestrian bridges may be inaccessible during segments of the work. Train delays may be encountered due to single tracking in the area where work is being performed.
  • The rehab project is programmed to close two bridges at a time for approximately 4-month increments.

CITY OF WEST PALM BEACH DOCKS

  • Currie Park Boat Docks and Ramps (2400 North Flagler Drive): Ramps are open daily, from sunrise to sunset.
  • Lake Mangonia Park Boat Ramps (2957 North Australian Avenue): Ramps are open daily, from sunrise to sunset.
  • Clematis Street Docks (South Clematis Street at South Flagler Drive): Docks are open daily, from 5 a.m. until midnight. Upcoming dock closure from April 25 at 9 a.m. through May 8 at 6 p.m. for SunFest.
  • Fern Street Dock (Fern Street at South Flagler Drive): The dock is open daily from 5 a.m. until midnight. No overnight dockage is allowed for boats, dinghies, or kayaks. The Fern Dock is also the home of a West Palm Beach Marine Patrol Boat and the West Palm Beach Fire and Rescue Boat. Upcoming dock closure from April 25 at 9 a.m. through May 8 at 6 p.m. for SunFest.
